Orthodox beauty

The Orthodox Church is the One, Holy, and True Church — the living Body of Christ, carried through the centuries, unbroken and radiant with grace. Her roots stretch back to the beginning, and her birth was at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended in fire and truth upon the Apostles. From that sacred day, she has remained the same Church, calling all into communion with God.

Canonical bishops and priests

The Orthodox Church is the One, Holy, and True Church — the living Body of Christ, passed down unchanged through the centuries. Her foundation was laid by Christ Himself, and her birth was on the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles in power and truth. At St. Nina Orthodox Mission in East Orlando, Florida, we are part of this ancient and unbroken tradition. We take this sacred calling seriously, preserving the apostolic succession of ordinations that began on Pentecost and continue to this day.

Join the Orthodox Church

Our services are mostly in English, with parts in Church Slavonic and Russian, reflecting the beautiful diversity of our parish — Americans, Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians, Georgians, and others. Join Orthodox Church

We have been following Christ since 33 AD

The story of the Orthodox Church begins on the holy day of Pentecost, fifty days after the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. On that day, as the Apostles were gathered together in prayer, the Holy Spirit descended from Heaven like a mighty rushing wind and appeared as tongues of fire upon each of them. Empowered by this divine grace, the Apostles began to preach the Gospel in many languages, and about three thousand souls were baptized and added to the Church that very day. This moment marks the birth of the Church — not merely as an institution, but as the living Body of Christ on earth.

Services

Saturday vespers

Each Saturday evening in East Orlando, we gather in our church to offer evening prayers to the Lord. We serve the traditional Orthodox Vespers service, and on special feast days we celebrate the All-Night Vigil — a deeply moving and ancient form of Orthodox worship. These services are open to all who seek a deeper connection with God through the beauty and rhythm of Orthodox liturgical life. Whether you are Orthodox or simply exploring the faith, we welcome you to join us for Vespers in Orlando and experience the peace and presence of the Holy Spirit.

Liturgy

The Divine Liturgy is the central and most sacred service of the Orthodox Christian Church. Also known as the Sacrament of Thanksgiving — or the Holy Eucharist (Eucharistia) — it is the mystical celebration in which we receive the true Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the heart of Orthodox worship, where heaven and earth meet. At St. Nina Orthodox Church in East Orlando, we celebrate the Divine Liturgy every Sunday at 10:00 AM, as well as on all Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church calendar. Our liturgies are reverent, beautiful, and deeply rooted in the ancient traditions of the early Church. If you’re looking for a Sunday Orthodox Liturgy in Orlando, we invite you to come, pray with us, and encounter the presence of God in the fullness of the Orthodox faith.

Baptisms

Baptism is the first and foundational sacrament of the Orthodox Church — the sacred gateway into the life in Christ. Through holy Baptism, we are washed of sin, united with Christ in His death and Resurrection, and born anew as children of God. It is here that our journey to salvation begins, as we enter the Church and receive the grace to grow in faith, hope, and love. If you are seeking Orthodox baptism in Orlando, we welcome you to contact us and learn more about this beautiful and life-giving sacrament.

Weddings

“And the two shall become one flesh.” (Matthew 19:5) Holy Matrimony is the sacrament in which a man and a woman are united in Christ, becoming one in heart, mind, and soul. It is not merely a legal contract, but a sacred mystery where God joins two lives together and blesses their union with grace, love, and the calling to walk the path of salvation as one. At St. Nina Orthodox Church in Orlando, we joyfully serve couples preparing for Orthodox Christian marriage and are honored to be part of this holy beginning.

Funerals

The Orthodox funeral service is a solemn and prayerful farewell, filled with hope in the Resurrection. It is often held in the church where the departed worshiped, typically preceded by a public viewing and time for family and friends to gather and pray. The funeral includes Scripture readings, hymns, and heartfelt prayers, entrusting the soul of the departed to the mercy of God. At St. Nina Orthodox Church in Orlando, we stand with families in their time of grief, offering pastoral care and the fullness of the Church’s ancient funeral rites.

Friendly community

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1) At St. Nina Orthodox Church in East Orlando, we are more than just a parish — we are a church family. We love, support, and encourage one another in faith, and we find great joy in walking this spiritual journey together. Our community is warm, welcoming, and rooted in the love of Christ. Come and be a part of it. Join us — and find a home in the Orthodox Church.
